They met with the Holy Father Mons. Luis Cabrera, Archbishop of Guayaquil and president of the EEC; Mons. Alfredo Espinoza, Archbishop of Quito and vice president of the EEC; Mons. David de la Torre, Auxiliary Bishop of Quito and general secretary of the episcopate and Fr. Enrique Umaña, deputy secretary of the EEC.
Bishop de la Torre spoke about the reality of Ecuador, while Bishop Espinoza referred to the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress (IEC2024) that was held in the city of Quito from September 8 to 15, “with the participation of more than five thousand people.”
