The Catholic Encyclopedia has compiled a special on the Devoted Week of Passionwhich includes the devotional Passion Weekprepared by the Mexican priest Luis Manrique in the mid-19th century.
Gálvez Krüger highlights that through the devotions of each day in Passion Week “the Christian faithful sought, and seek, to honor each of the Lord’s torments, separately, in order to adore them, meditate on them, atone for them and repair them.”
“With adequate surveillance and pastoral guidance from bishops and parish priests, these acts of immense and sincere piety lead to sacramental practice, which is the goal pursued,” he assured.
