Every February 15, the festival of the language of Saint Anthony of Padua, Doctor of the Church, is celebrated. This is due to a prodigious miracle that Saint Bonaventure found in the language of Saint Anthony and which later gave rise to this festival.
Father Giancarlo Zamengo, conventual Franciscan and General Director of the magazine Messenger of Saint Anthonyspread a email in which he points out that today is a special day for the friars of the Basilica of Padua (Italy), where the remains of the saint are preserved, because the transfer of his relics is commemorated, also known as the festival of the language.
In this regard, he recalled that the origin of this celebration dates back to April 8, 1263, when Saint Bonaventure, “Seraphic” Doctor of the Church, went to recognize the remains of Saint Anthony, who had been dead for 32 years. There he discovered that the language of Saint Anthony was incorrupt.
