The data comes from International Tourism Statistics (ETI), the report published monthly by the Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec).

Fewer tourists arrive
The growth of more than 30% year-on-year in the departure of Argentines in September contrasted sharply with the 15.9% drop in the arrival of foreign tourists to our country, which increased the deficit in the tourism balance.
In September, 461,900 foreign visitors arrived, compared to 549,000 in the same month last year.
75.3% of incoming tourism came from neighboring countries, mainly Brazilwhich contributed 24.9% of the total; followed by Uruguay (24,2%) y Chile (15,8%).
43.7% of non-resident tourists arrived in Argentina by air; 43.0% used the land route; and the remaining 13.3% arrived by river/sea route (the border crossings surveyed by the ETI represented 52% of incoming tourism).
