Less than a week after making its debut in the Apertura 2025, Racing will face Colo Colo in its last friendly (and first televised) of this preseason. Gustavo Costas’ team, which is preparing for a long season, will debut locally on 1/24 and wants to adjust details for what that match will be like. On the other side will be the Cacique of Jorge Almirón, the last champion of Chile, who is also preparing to face official commitments.

The Academy comes from a not so busy transfer market, in which it suffered some significant losses (such as those of Juanfer Quintero and Roger Martínez) and in which it added three new faces: Matías Zaracho, Adrián Balboa and Ignacio Rodríguez. The last two traveled to Chile for this match and will be available, while the blue and white fans will have to wait a little longer to see the former Atlético Mineiro again.

So far in its preseason, in its most intense part, Racing faced two friendlies in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. He did it against General Caballero (a draw and a defeat) and against 2 de Mayo (equality and victory). Costas gave all of his available players some training. but against the last rival, in the first rehearsal, he put his starting team, which could repeat this Saturday.

Jorge Almirón’s Cacique, the last champion of Chilean football, will play his last friendly against Racing before his official debut: it will be 25/1 against the U. de Chile, for the Super Cup. Before the duel against the Academy, the Chilean team defeated Huracán 1-0 and tied 1-1 with Peñarol in the two previous rehearsals, both for the Río de la Plata Series.

The meeting between the Academy and the Cacique will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 7:00 p.m. (in Argentina) at the David Arellano Monumental Stadium.
