The brand of pickups Ram has just launched a new sales channel for its current star vehicle: the Rampage truck, which can now be purchased through a savings plan.
The compact truck was presented in Brazil last year, where it turned out to be a success, and was launched at the beginning of this year in the Argentine market, where it also showed a very good reception, despite the difficult time in the market.
The Rampage arrived to compete in a segment that is increasingly growing, that of pickups that are located below the traditional Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, among others. It is a category that in some way was created by the Fiat Toro and was joined by models such as Ford Maverick, Renault Oroch and Chevrolet Montana.
The rapid adoption by the public of this type of vehicle is due to the fact that they have the versatility of a truck but offers driving comfort very similar to that of a car.
The Rampage is offered in our market with a single mechanical package but with two very different configurations: the Rebel, oriented towards off-road driving, and the R/T, with a proposal more focused on sporty handling on asphalt.
Savings plan options and installment value
The proposal that the Stellantis Group pickup brand has just presented is a new form of marketing to access Rampage and will be focused on the Rebel 2.0L AT9 4X4 versionthrough a savings plan.
This plan consists of 84 installments, with a 60/40 modality, according to what was reported by Ram. The plan details that 60% of the value of the vehicle throughout the 84 installments and the remaining 40% will be paid at the time of award.
We must not forget that the value of the installment in a system like the savings plan is directly tied to the current list price of the vehicle. That is, if the model undergoes increases over time, The monthly amount of the savings plan will increase accordingly.
Regarding the award, Ram proposes, in addition to the traditional methods of drawing and bidding, to offer the awards agreed upon in installments 4, 12, 24 and 36, bidding for 40% of the vehicle.
The Rampage today has prices of 47,592,800 pesos for the Rebel version and 54,276,300 for the R/T. As far as he could know Clarionthe first installment of the plan has a value of $ 381.089.
What is the Ram Rampage like and what does it bring?
The new Rampage is offered in two versions: Rebel, more oriented towards off-road use, and R/T, with a configuration that aims more at sporty handling on asphalt.
Both options are equipped with the same mechanical assembly: turbo gasoline engine (Hurricane 4) 2.0 liters and 272 horsepower, 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. But between the two there are big differences in style and set-up.
Built on the platform Small Wide, the same one on which Stellantis Group models such as the Fiat Toro and the Jeep Compass and Commander are manufactured, the brand reported that numerous changes were made for this pickup, so much so that the monocoque structure receives 60% renewed parts and redesigned. Also the use of high and ultra resistance steels is superior than in other models.
In terms of style, the Rebel comes with mostly black plastics on the nose and bumpers in addition to mounting some off road tires: All Terrain in measurements 235/65 R17. The interior is predominantly black, with leather coverings (not imitation leather).
The R/T (Road and Track) alternative is the sporty option, with black but shiny accents and comparatively low-profile 19-inch wheels (235/55). The interior combines black with red details and a combination of leather and Suedea material with a texture similar to alcantara.
In the R/T version, the sportiest of all, the Rampage accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a maximum (limited) speed of 220 km/h.
In the Rebel, performance remains high: 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. That’s why RAM boasts the most powerful and fastest-accelerating regional production truck.
In all versions the dimensions are practically the same, with 5,028 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, 1,780 mm high, and 2,994 mm wheelbase. The only difference appears in the ground clearance, which is 264 mm, except in the R/T variant which is lowered by 10 mm.
The load capacity is 750 kilos with the gasoline engine. There is a turbodiesel version, which at the moment was not announced for the local market, which can load 1,015 kilos.
The interior comes with two large screens. One of them serves as the instrument panel and has a size of 10.3 inches. The one on the center console is even larger (12 inches) and that allows the information to be divided into several sections.
The connection with cell phone applications is wireless, as is battery charging. The latter has, in turn, a cooling system that prevents the device from overheating. Inside it has 6 USB ports, of which 3 are USB-C.
In terms of safety, it is worth highlighting its 7 airbags (front, front side, curtain and knee for driver) and a comprehensive package of driving assistance systemssuch as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking or lane maintenance system, among others.
