The analysis of different indices allows the creation of rankings on quality of life in cities. These characteristics are taken into account by many people when settling in one place or another.
However, preferences for a neighborhood and even a city depend on each person and even allow them to create their own list that, many times, differs from what is established by statistical offices and various researchers.
In the case of Santa Fe, the largest cities usually top these lists. But there are smaller cities that appear among those with the best quality of life.
What is the best city to live in Santa Fe?
In 2015, the researcher from the University of Litoral and Conicet, Néstor Javier Gómez, published a work where he listed the Santa Fe cities with better life quality. To do this, he used data from the 1991 and 2010 censuses. The result was Urban Quality of Life in Santa Fe Province: Demographic, Social and Territorial Processes Between 1991 and 2010, an article published in the United States and discussed by the magazine Break.
According to the magazine, Gómez’s study took into account educational levels, access to social work, overcrowding, housing conditions, infant mortality rateaccess to drinking water, sewers and natural gas, the number of paved streets and weekend houses.
From the researcher’s analysis it is clear that Sunchales, Funes, Casilda, Cañada de Gómez, Esperanza, Rosario, Gálvez, Rafaela, San Lorenzo, El Trébol, San Carlos Centro, Armstrong and Arroyo Seco were the towns with the best indexes.
The magazine explains that “the best positioned localities had a traditionally agricultural profile, which led to an industrial profile that diversified their economic structure. Furthermore, they have not reached an urban scale that implies problems typical of big cities: garbage, impoverishment or insecurity.”
He adds that, in contrast, “those with the lowest index are all northern municipalities: San Cristóbal, Frontera, Las Toscas, Villa Ocampo, Vera, Calchaquí and San Javier.”
More than a decade has passed since that investigation and although the data from the census 2022 prevent a similar approach, there are alternatives to know which are the best cities in that province to live.
One of them, popularized in late 2023 for this search, is Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool, Bard. Respond to the query with a study that locates Santa Fe de la Vera Cruzthe capital of the province, as the best city to live in.
In this ranking he is followed by Rosario, the most populated city in the province and the third most populated in the country. Economic and cultural center, plagued by drug crime for several years, according to Bard, it stands out for its opportunities in business and education.
In third place appears Rafaelaanother industrial hub, followed by One-Eyed Deeragroindustrial center, Esperanzaof strong German heritage, and Saint tomewhich provides tranquility a few kilometers from the capital.
