Renault Argentina launched the Kangoo E-Tech, the new generation of its 100% electric utility vehicle. It is the third zero-emission model that the brand offers in our market, joining the Kwid E-Tech and Megane E-Tech.
In this way, the company completed its launch schedule for the E-Tech family announced in December 2023 within the framework of the “Renault E-Tech 100% electric days”the seminar on electrification and future mobility solutions held at La Rural de Palermo.
The Renault Kangoo E-Tech arrived to replace the Kangoo ZE that had been launched in 2018, becoming the first electric vehicle to be sold in the country.
It also completes the Kangoo range, a model with 25 years of history in Argentina and 23 years as a segment leader.
The arrival of the Kangoo E-Tech represents the second electric novelty of 2024 in the utility segment, joining the Ford E-Transit.
Compared to its predecessor, the Kangoo E-Tech has improved autonomy, greater load capacity and advanced safety features, becoming an even more efficient option for urban logistics and last mile operations.
The new model is offered through a direct sales channel in a single version that costs $ 48.124.000.
More efficient and equipped
The new Kangoo E-Tech is equipped with a 90 kW electric motor (equivalent to 120 HP) and 245 Nm of instant torque, powered by a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery that allows it to travel up to 300 kilometers with a single charge.
Compared to the previous generation, the battery has greater capacity (up from 33 kWh), extending the autonomy by 50%.
The battery has a liquid cooling system and electrical resistance allowing it to be used in the appropriate temperature zone, thus maintaining its autonomy and reducing charging time.
It has a warranty of eight years (previously five) or 160,000 kilometers and during this interval it can be replaced for free if its capacity decreases to less than 70% of its nominal value (SOC).
To recharge it there are three options: a single-phase charge (alternating current) of 7.4 kW, which takes about 5 hours to get from 15% to 80% of its capacity; a 22 kW three-phase load, also with alternating current, which takes 90 minutes (15%-80%) and is configured for charging at public, semi-public stations and home charging; and 80 kW (direct current) fast charging for ultra-fast highway chargers that takes only 30 minutes.
On the other hand, it offers a cargo space of 4.3 m3 and a maximum payload of 800 kilos (150 kilos more than Kangoo ZE). Its extra-large sliding side door (864 mm) accommodates large objects.
The storage space is now 2.2 meters long, 1.5 m. wide and 1.3 m. high, while it has 1/3 – 2/3 rear doors that can open from 90° to 180°, facilitating access even when there is little space behind the vehicle.
The equipment is also more complete than its predecessor, highlighting the four airbags (front and front sides), the 8″ multimedia touch screen configurable with Android and iOS devices, the rear view camera and the rear parking sensors, and the tire pressure monitoring.
