In the middle of the visit Javier Miley and his entourage to the Tesla Gigafactory, in Texas, one of the proposals he had from Elon Musk was to drive the brand’s latest launch: the Cybertruck pickup.
The president got behind the wheel of the bulky truck and together with his sister, Karina Milei, they went out to test the model on the premises of the electric car plant.
Presented last year, the Cybertruck is the fifth Tesla model, a range that is not exactly cheap but in our market could have sky-high values.

The launch event of the Cybertruck, in December 2023, the most anticipated of its patient customers, took place at the plant that the world’s leading electric car brand owns in Austin, Texas (USA).
Musk held a live broadcast to document the historic moment. After so many setbacks, he deserved it. The long-awaited electric pickup was delivered by Elon Musk himself, at an event held at the Austin, Texas (USA) plant.
In the test, the Tesla Cybertruck completed the 402 meters in just 11 secondswhile to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h it took 2.6 seconds.
The second, for its part, showed the armoring power of the truck, capable of resisting impacts from a 45 caliber machine gun and caliber weapons 9 mm.
Likewise, this time the resistance of the glass to the impacts of a baseball was successfully tested, recalling the failed attempts four years ago.
More expensive and with less autonomy
The purchase price for the basic model, which has not yet been launched (single engine and rear-wheel drive), is $60,990; the intermediate one (all-wheel drive, two engines and 608 HP), $82,000; and the full one called “Cyberbeast” (all-wheel drive, two engines and 857 HP), $99,990.
These values clearly exceed the $39,900, $51,100 and $71,100 respectively that Musk had promised during the 2019 presentation.
Elon Musk had also “sold” that the Cybertruck would be capable of traveling up to 805 kilometers (500 miles) on a single charge. However, at the event it was made clear that its maximum distance reaches 547 kilometerssomething like 340 miles.
For those who wish to expand it (up to 756 kilometers), the brand offers an additional battery that must be installed in the charging box.
What has not been revealed is the capacity of the batteries of any of the three versions.
The manufacturer enters an already occupied electric pickup market, particularly by its rival Rivian. Last year, Ford launched the F-150 Lightning, the electric version of its best-selling model in the United States.
Musk has previously revealed that he already has more than a million orders and that he hopes to reach a production of 250,000 units towards 2025.
