Ramthe American manufacturer of trucks and utility vehicles, announced the arrival of a renewed version of its most famous truck: The 1500 will debut in Argentina at the beginning of 2025 with many new features.
Specifically, it is a new generation that had already debuted in 2018 in the US market but had not yet appeared in our market. Until now, the variant from Mexico, which corresponds to a previous generation, was still offered.
Taking advantage of the update of the 2025 edition of the Ram 1500 in the United States, the Argentine subsidiary will present this new generation during their summer actions in La Costa.
Among the most important new features stands out the decision to replace the historic V8 HEMI engine, an emblem in the history of this pickup, with a 6 cylinders in linewhich promises more power and greater efficiency.
In addition, it highlights its new figure, especially in the trunk, and promises a change in its behavior thanks to the pneumatic suspension system that is debuting for the entire range.
What is the new Ram 1500 like?
The fifth generation of this emblematic truck among the full-size will begin to complete its range in the Argentine market. Until now, the only representative of this generation in the country was the Rebel version, while the best-selling variants are those that belong to the previous edition.
What will first catch the attention of connoisseurs of the brand is the new horn. The brand leaves that monolithic grill that it offered until now for a more harmonious and integrated front between headlights, grill and bumper.
The first versions that will arrive in the country will have the Laramie equipment level but will have the finish Night Editionmeaning that the grill, mirror casing, door handles and wheels, among other elements, will come painted black. Variants with chrome elements will arrive later.
But the change that will get people talking will be the replacement of the historic HEMI engine. The V8 engine has been with the 1500 for decades and will now be replaced by a 6 cylinders in line supercharged with two turbos.
It is a 3.0 liter block called Hurricane 6 that generates 426 horsepoweragainst the 395 HP delivered by the V8. The torque it delivers is also greater: 635 Nm versus 550 for the HEMI. Furthermore, it does so starting at 3,500 rpm, before the V8 engine (3,950).
According to the values published by the brand, the new 1500 with the 6-cylinder engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and an improvement in consumption compared to the V8: in the city it promises 6 km/l and in route, 7 km/l.
The gearbox remains the same 8 speed automatic and the four-wheel drive system offers 4×2, 4×4 automatic, 4×4 high and 4×4 low options.
The other relevant mechanical novelty is the incorporation of a pneumatic suspension system that, in turn, allows you to select between 5 possible height levels, offering more options to cross complicated terrain without damaging the vehicle.
Standard ground clearance is 209 mm. The suspension automatically lowers 15 mm above 100 km/h, with the aim of improving the aerodynamic coefficient. And then there are two off-road heights: 238 mm, which works up to 65 km/h, and 260 mm, up to 40 km/h.
There is a height that helps when entering or exiting the vehicle and that also makes it easier to place or remove loads from it, leaving a free space of 156 mm.
Inside it maintains its spacious cabin, very comfortable for 5 adult passengers. The possibility of reclining the rear seats is added to provide more comfort on long trips.
A new, larger touch screen is housed in the center console, as it is now 14.5 inches with a vertical layout. The instrument panel will also be digital and will replace the analog dials.
The models that arrive in the country will also have a third screen located in front of the passengerwho will be able to see navigation-related issues and can link their own phone to access entertainment options.
In addition, other devices can be connected through an HDMi port to transmit video images. This screen is built with a technology that prevents the driver from seeing from his position.
It will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and will incorporate a induction charging for two cell phonesin addition to the different USB ports and power outlet that it includes.
Although the final equipment is not confirmed, the 2025 Ram 1500 will come with a collision detection system at intersections with autonomous emergency braking, active lane-keeping assistant, fatigue detector, evasive maneuver assistant and license plate recognition. speed limit.
In addition, it will have 6 airbags (multi-stage front, front side, and front and rear curtain); hill start assist, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD; and electronic stability control.
It will also have automatic electric running boards (they are deployed when the doors are opened and then stored attached to the bodywork) and with the Ramboxcompartments located above the rear fenders and that have a lock.
