Until two decades ago, the possibility of producing wine in the province of Buenos Aires seemed strange. However, viticulture began to develop and there are already several enterprises that offer their products and receive visitors to show what the production process is like.
The first experiences They were carried out at the beginning of this century in the southwest of Buenos Aires and then, over the years, they spread to other areas.
According to Daniel Di Nucci from Al Este winery and vineyards, located in the city of Médanos, Villarino district, viticulture was prohibited in Buenos Aires lands from the 1930s until 1997, because they sought to protect the regional economies of Cuyo.
In the mid-90s that restriction was lifted and many they resumed activity. Today, there are numerous wineries throughout the entire province. Let’s see.

Matías Lucas, together with his siblings Valeria and Mariano, began this project in Tandil in 2008 when his oenology professor suggested that this territory could be a “friendly area” for viticulture.
Along this path, the “La Elena” vineyards were developed, and then in 2011, “Don Bosco”. Both are located 260 meters above sea level, in a climate of large thermal amplitudewind and distributed rain, that is why they implemented dry land work, that is, without irrigation.
