Ford Argentina expands the family of its large F-150 pickup with the launch of two new versions: the renewed F-150 Lariat Powerboost Hybrid and the new F-150 Tremor V8conceived with an unprecedented set-up designed to enhance its off-road performance.
These two new launches complement the F-150 Raptor, presented in August, and reinforce Ford’s diversity of options in the full-size pickup segment in the country.
The F-150 established itself as the best-selling full-size pickup in Argentina in 2023, with more than 500 units delivered and a total of 2,300 units sold since its launch in 2019.
Both models, now available in the dealer network at $ 102.068.100 (Tremor) y $ 107.738.550 (Hybrid Lariat), offer design improvements inside and out, and smart equipmentthanks to a modem that, in addition to updating the vehicle’s software, allows users to operate different functions remotely through the app Ford Pass.
This renovation also offers the technology Pro Power Onboardan electric power supply system that allows customers to connect different devices and use the van as a power generatorwith capacity up to 2.0 kW in the Tremor version and 7.2 kW in the Lariat Hybrid version.
F-150 Tremor Features
Due to its mechanics, aesthetics, set-up and equipment, this variant is the great novelty of the F-150 family.
Mechanically it has the engine Coyote; and 5.0 liter V8 that delivers a power of 406 HP and a torque of 556 Nmand which has direct and indirect fuel injection systems, double variable camshafts (Ti-VCT), cast iron exhaust manifolds and Start/Stop technology.
To improve its off-road behavior, it offers greater ground clearance, all-terrain front and rear shock absorbers, rear differential with electronic locking, special suspension arms, helical front shock absorbers and rear shock absorbers with two-stage variable speed elastics.
In terms of aesthetics, it has unique details such as side decals on the box, a grill with a special design with orange appliqués, cast aluminum running boards with an exclusive design for the version, as well as interior design elements such as carpets with the Tremor logo and upholstery with orange stitching.
At the same time, it offers headlights and fog lights with full LED technology, front bumper with off-road design, special hood with air vents, rescue hooks, new brand logo, 275/70 R18 tires fitted on matte-colored rims, LED lighting in the cargo box and a unique dark gray rear bumper with rescue hooks.
Another novelty is the new functional door of the cargo box, which thanks to its design allows easier access and use of the box, even when towing a trailer.
In addition to the classic electric opening and closing system, the gate now has a central independent side opening door (manual) that has three semi-stops (the last up to 100 degrees of opening).
Features of the F-150 Hybrid
The F-150 Powerboost Hybrid was the first electrified pick-up in the country and constitutes – along with the Ford Maverick Hybrid – the only full-hybrid pick-up offer in Argentina.
Aesthetically, it has new features in the exterior design (new grille, new Full LED front lights, new 20” wheel design, new LED rear lights and the new flat, black Ford logo.
Its propulsion system combines the 3.5 EcoBoost V6 engine with 406 HP and 678 Nm with another electric engine that offers a maximum power of 44 HP and is powered by a 1.5 KWh Lithium-ion battery. Combined, they manage to deliver a total power of 436 horses.
Both versions are equipped with 10 speed automatic transmission and intelligent 4WD traction system (4×2, 4x4A, 4x4H, 4x4L) that offers different use options:
• 4×2 (2H): the pick-up works only with rear-wheel drive.
• 4×4 automatic (4A)– The truck operates in 4×4 mode as needed.
• 4×4 alta (4H): distributes the engine power 50:50 between the front and rear axle.
• 4×4 baja (4L): It has a reduction box that multiplies the force on the wheels almost by 3.
The intelligent traction system is combined with the “Terrain Management System” with seven preset driving modes Sport, Eco, Tow / Hauling, Normal, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl.
This level of power, robustness and technology means that the new F-150 has a load capacity of 960 kg. (Tremor) and 881 kg. (Hybrid) and a towing capacity of up to 5,933 and 5,012 kg respectively.
In terms of equipment, both variants have a customizable 12″ digital instrument, head-up display, 12″ central multi-touch screen compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with 14 speakers, seats with electric regulation and heating and panoramic sliding sunroof, among others.
They also have the Ford Co-Pilot 360and driving assistance systems package composed of adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function; active lane keeping and centering system; pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection; blind spot alert; reverse braking assist and automatic high beam control, among others.
