In the last decade, SUVs have become the great stars of the automotive industry. Although pickups and compact cars are also strong in our country, Sport Utilities were gaining more ground than anyone else.
The automakers were expanding their SUV ranges; Some even reconfigured their strategies by taking classic silhouettes such as sedans and minivans out of circulation, to name a few.
The market rules and sales of this type of vehicles have been increasing in our country. And with the release of imports, many models manufactured in Brazil, such as the Volkswagen T-Cross, Jeep Renegade, and Citroën C4 Cactus, improved their sales rates in recent months.
Although as expected, the two best-selling models are Argentine. Number one so far in 2024 is the Volkswagen Taos. Manufactured at the General Pacheco plant, this medium SUV is available from $ 41.2462.450.
The second is the Chevrolet Tracker, produced in Alvear (province of Santa Fe). It is the only compact SUV among the three best-selling in the country, and one of the five cheapest on the market. Its range starts in $ 24.969.900.
The top 3 is closed by the Toyota Corolla Cross. Made in Brazil, it is the only one among the best sellers that offers versions with hybrid propulsion. Its range starts from $ 29.890.000.
The cheapest SUVs on the market
1- Chery Tiggo 4 PRO. Currently it is the most economical option among SUVs. Imported from China, the range is made up of three versions equipped with two gasoline engines (1.5 with 113 HP and 1.5 turbo with 147 HP), associated with manual and automatic transmissions.
Although Chery expresses its values in dollars, the brand emphasizes that in dealerships they are pesified at the official exchange value.

Currently, the range is made up of five versions equipped with the 1.6-liter 120 HP gasoline engine, associated with a fifth-speed manual gearbox or a CVT-type automatic transmission. All have six airbags as standard, while the top of the range (Exclusive CVT) is the only one with driving assistance systems.
