Through the specific testimony of the Navarrete Correa family, the documentary follows in detail its experience during megamisions in the State of Mexico: from preparation, shipping, to the return home.
During the premiere, Brenda Treviño, director of Youth and Missionary Family, commented – in a statement shared with ACI Press – that this story “touches the soul because it shows what is often not seen: the love with which a family responds to God’s call to serve in distant communities.”
Under the direction of Francisco Vargas, the film adopts a close and authentic approach. The director himself defined the project as “an exciting creative challenge.” “The camera not only shows what happens during the mission, but what it implies being a missionary family, with all its responsibilities, difficulties and fruits,” he explains.
Beyond the family story, history acquires greater relevance when it is located within an apostolate that since 1993 has consolidated these missionary activities.
According to him Apostolate websiteonly in 2024, Youth and Missionary Family mobilized 15 thousand people in Mexico and Central America, benefiting about 10 thousand with concrete initiatives such as delivery of pantries, free medical and psychological care, donation of clothing, toys and school supplies, as well as the rehabilitation of churches and the construction of school rooms.
Although its roots are in Mexico, today the work of Youth and Missionary Family covers 24 countries, congregating more than 50 thousand missionaries and reaching more than 800 thousand people.
Nevertheless, Walking together It is not limited to a count of figures or achievements. As Fr. Emilio Díaz-Torre, Legionnaire of Christ, points out in the statement, is “a portrait of a living and fruitful reality: ‘This is a story as there are many in the Church and in Youth and Missionary Family.
