Virtual pilgrimage to the Holy Land announced by Saint Luke

The Magdala Center, based in Galilee, announced a new virtual pilgrimage “completely free” to the Holy Land, which presents a special year-long itinerary to explore it “hand in hand with Saint Luke.”

The pilgrimage, explains the Magdala Center in a statement shared with ACI Prensa, “will follow liturgical cycle C, which begins on December 1, 2024 and ends on November 23, 2025,” with the guidance of Father Juan María Solana LC , its director.

It is, he assures, a “unique program” that will allow Catholics from anywhere in the world “an extraordinary opportunity to delve deeper into the Gospel of Saint Luke and explore the sacred places of the Holy Land from the comfort of their homes.”

The first step of the pilgrimage will take place this October 28, with the broadcast of an interview with Taís Gea, consecrated woman of Regnum Christi who designed the pilgrimage logo.

Throughout November, each week we will broadcast content that helps participants prepare for the pilgrimage.

Those who sign up will receive meditations via email every week.

The Magdala Center highlights that this virtual pilgrimage to the Holy Land “takes on special relevance in the current context,” in which the region is in the midst of “a period of conflict and turmoil,” making in-person pilgrimages difficult.

“The virtual pilgrimage is like a drip irrigation that, drop by drop, nourishes faith and makes hope flourish in the hearts of the participants. In times of difficulty, these small spiritual drops add up to create a larger, more powerful movement, keeping the connection with the Holy Land alive and strengthening faith,” he says.

42 of the weekly meditations that those registered in the virtual pilgrimage will receive will be based on the Gospel of Saint Luke, while the other 10 will be taken from the Gospel of Saint John.

“Every Monday, Father Juan will send those registered a meditation by email, so that they can prepare their hearts and minds for the Sunday liturgy,” says Magdala, highlighting that these meditations “will not only enrich participation in the Holy Mass, “But they will also allow participants to connect with the history and culture of the Holy Land, thus living the Holy Year 2025 as true ‘pilgrims of hope.'”

The Magdala Center highlights that Saint Luke “is known as the narrator of mercy and hope” and the Gospel he wrote “has served as a source of comfort and hope for the Christian community, especially in times of uncertainty.”

“In the context of the Holy Year 2025, dedicated to the theme ‘pilgrim of hope’, the figure of Saint Luke resonates deeply, since his message invites the faithful to renew their trust in the love and mercy of God,” he says.
