In a statement shared with ACI Prensa, the organizers explain that Congress is part of the Centennial of the appearance of Santa María to Sor Lucia in Pontevedra (Spain), on December 10, 1925. That appearance, stand out, brand “the beginning of the devotion of the first five Saturdays of repair to the Immaculate Heart of Mary”.

“In that appearance, the Virgin appeared with the Child Jesus and showed Sor lucia her heart surrounded by thorns, symbol of men’s offenses. He said: ‘daughter, at least you, comforts my immaculate heart, that ungrateful men offend continuously,” he adds.
In addition, the virtual event also has as reference the jubilee for the 350 years of the appearances of the Sacred Heart to Santa Margarita María de Alacoque, which culminates this June 27, in the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Among the speakers of the Congress are the Argentine priest Carlos Pío of the Immaculate Heart, founder and general superior of Frcydim; Fr. José Jesús del Immaculate Heart and the Blessed Trinity, founder of Mater Fatima and director of the Third Order of Frcydim; and Fray Nelson Medina OP, Colombian priest and doctor of fundamental theology.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary, “a prophetic and powerful guide for today”
Interviewed by ACI Press, Fr. José Jesús del Immaculate Heart and the Blessed Trinity (P. Héctor Ramírez), regretted that “we live times marked by confusion, wars, the advance of ideologies that disfigure the truth of the human being, violence, dictatorships, poverty and a deep crisis of faith.”
Given this “such wounded scenario,” he said, “the Immaculate Heart of Mary should not be seen as a symbol of the past, but as a prophetic and powerful guide for today.”
“Saint Paul VI said that we are in the era of Mary, and that fills us with hope: the triumph will occur, because it is God’s will,” he said.
“Following Mary is to let us form for her heart, learn from her silence, her purity, of her total surrender. In everyday life – in the family, in personal struggles, in the midst of an increasingly hostile world to faith – she teaches us to live with Christ, for Christ and for Christ, and to offer our sacrifices in repair for so many sins that offend God and destroy souls.”
“It’s not a pious devotion”
Fr. José Jesús pointed out that “whom they feel inside a spiritual concern, a thirst for something deeper and more true, we would tell you: you are not alone. That thirst you experience is no accident; it is the silent language of God calling you to eternal love, to meet him. And Mary, as a true mother, wants to accompany you on that path, as he did with Sor Lucia.”
The founding priest of Mater Fatima also recalled that “the Immaculate Heart of Mary is not a pious devotion, San Luis María Grignion de Montfort teaches us: ‘Mary is the safest, shorter and more perfect path to reach Jesus.'”
“To those who are really thirsty, of peace, meaning, I would tell them: to steal with simplicity and without fear. Consider your life, even with a humble prayer. Ask him to teach you to listen to God already respond with generosity. His heart is a refuge, but also school, where he learns to love, to pray, to repair, to trust … and to walk safely, he added.
A congress that seeks to be “a call to arouse”
Fr. José Jesús stressed that in this event “we want people to truly live Congress: that it is not only a series of talks, but a deep spiritual experience. This message from the Immaculate Heart can and must be a life proposal.”
“We want Congress to be a call to awaken: to listen to what the Virgin continues to say today to our hearts, to deepen that message that, unfortunately, we have not taken full advantage of,” he said.
Faced with the “difficult moments” that the entire world is going through, he said, “we need more than ever the wise guide of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to walk with hope. Congress wants to be that space of meeting, conversion and spiritual renewal, where the Virgin takes us by the hand to take us, with sweetness and firmness, to the heart of her son.”
“In this year of the Jubilee of Mercy, Mary also presents himself as the mother of mercy and mother of hope. Because she loves her children, she comes to give us comfort and hope beyond problems, pain and tribulations, reminding us that her heart is always surely a safe refuge and the way to God,” he concluded.
