“Together with pilgrims from around the world, praying the rosary and singing the Hail Mary of Lourdes, we follow and carry the light of Christ to rekindle our faith and strengthen our hope,” the text adds.
“At this hour of entering the night, the earth full of light seems to gently touch the sky, welcoming its mystery and clarity. The torch procession, also known as the Marian procession, takes place every day from March 25 to November 1 at 9 p.m. and offers one of the most beautiful faces of Lourdes,” explains the website.
March 25 is the day of the Annunciation of the Lord, which remembers the moment when the Archangel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would become the Mother of God; while on November 1 the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of All Saints.
