Every year, a crowd of devotees gather on December 11 outside the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City, waiting for midnight on the 12th to sing the “Mañanitas” to the Virgin Guadalupe, in a traditional song. Mexican with which birthdays are celebrated.
For this 2023, on the occasion of the “Guadalupan celebrations”, more than 13 million pilgrims are expected to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, which houses the original image that miraculously appeared on the tilma of San Juan Diego on December 12, 1531.
The “Mañanitas” to the Virgin of Guadalupe will be broadcast at 11:45 p.m. on December 11 (local time), through the YouTube channel of the Instituto Superior de Estudios Guadalupanos (ISEG) of the Primate Archdiocese of Mexico.
