A multitude of faithful participated this Sunday, the eve of the feast of the Virgin of Fátima which is celebrated on May 13, in the recitation of the Rosary and in the traditional candle procession that takes place in her sanctuary in Portugal.
According to the Sanctuary of Fátima, this 2024 thousands of pilgrims arrive at the place, especially Portuguese; but there are also registered groups from Europe, Asia and America, to participate in the celebrations for the 107 years of the apparitions of the Virgin of Fatima to the three sighted shepherds.
The 2024 pilgrimage also marks the seventh anniversary of the canonization of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, two of the little shepherds, who were raised to the altars by Pope Francis in 2017.
