In conversation with ACI Press, Quique Look reveals that the priest with whom he lives gave him a advice before the weekend: “I had to dry a lot of boyfriends who have gone to farewell with friends and on Sunday they returned sad, repentant and frustrated.”

Look recognizes that this reflection moved him. However, when the weekend prepared by his friends began, he did not know how it was going to be, although all are members of AUTE, a Catholic association promoted by Mira in 2021 and that is defined as “a bridge between the young man and the Church”, with the purpose of “sharing the message of Christ to young people and offering all the options that the Church has to live faith”.

So he spent Friday enjoying the festive company of twelve friends, in which there was a time to answer questions about why he took the passage of marrying Maria.

“We have enjoyed, I felt super loved and I have been able to open my heart with my fears and my concerns, but in a super healthy environment,” he explains.

In parallel, the girls had prepared a similar plan for Maria and, bought with them, arranged the time to celebrate Mass together on Saturday afternoon.

“They cover my eyes and take me to the floor below the house where we were and start listening to an invocation to the Holy Spirit, a precious song that they know I love. And suddenly, when my eyes uncover my eyes, I meet Mary, ”he describes with emotion.

Quique Mira explains that during the weekend he thought that everything made sense “to celebrate that I have found the love of my life”, but I did not expect that encounter.

The hug between them has gone viral. “There were twenty seconds, a piece of sky, beautiful” with all the friends around and “at the feet of the Lord, because we were about to start the Mass.”

Marriage, a relationship of three, with God in the middle

María Lorenzo describes Aci Press that, although they had seen themselves on Friday afternoon, the moment was “special and emotional” because friends had had the idea “to get together at the time of the Eucharist”, as saying: “We got together before God and make you look at each other before God.”

After all, this is how they want to live their future: “We want that relationship of three, that God is in the midst of us”, because the vocation to marriage “is we two, but with God in the center.”

Maria emphasizes that those who have thought of this prenuptial celebration style are members of AUTE, “that they are not my friends of a lifetime”, but that they are friendships “that the Lord has given us: what unites us is the mission.”

In this sense, María Lorenzo highlights the importance of having “friends who live the vocation in the same way as us, who understand it, invite us and lead us to live it as really.”

Friends, he insists, “that they approach my vocation, that they do not make me lock me in myself, that they do not pass over things but understand the step we are going to take: that we will be together for a lifetime and we want it.”

Bachelor parties “with purpose”

Quique Mira summarizes that, on Sunday, at the end of the weekend, “I could only thank my friends for how they have prepared it,” which has led him to make a reflection.

On the one hand, “there is a single farewell style in which no limits are set, it is a riot and the boyfriend arrives at home tired, sleepy, having lived a riot, but that in the heart is nothing left.”

On the other, “there are farewells where it is celebrated, but the friends are clear that they are not going to look for themselves and are not going to roll it out, but that they will celebrate with a purpose.”
