Venezuela: Stories on the way to holiness, concert on José Gregorio Hernández

The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) and the Archdiocese of Caracas announced the concert Stories on the way to holinesswhich will take place on Sunday, September 28 at the Aula Magna of the Central University of Venezuela.

It is a musical tour, under the musical direction of Maestro Miguel Delgado Estévez, with melodies “that José Gregorio Hernández, lover of music and art, would have heard throughout her life”, according to the Official CEV website.

“Thus, between waltzes, polkas and contradanzas of the time, the audience will imagine dancing or touching the piano, recalling Andean, Zulian, Caracas, Oriental and even Joropos, with emblematic notes of the time,” he adds.

The show, framed in The campaign Saints for allwhich is promoted by the Venezuelan Church on the occasion of the canonization of the “Doctor of the Poor” and the Religious Carmen Rendiles, on October 19, will feature the participation of outstanding Venezuelan pianists, directors and singers, in addition to the Simón Díaz orchestra of the National Orchestras System.

Among the artists who will lend their voices and talents are Soledad Bravo, Francisco Pacheco, Elisa Vegas, Betsayda Machado and Liana Malva, among several others.

“It will be the encounter of musical generations that seek to offer it with new songs composed of the people who, years ago, raised him on his shoulders, voicing José Gregorio is ours!” Said the Episcopate, referring to the feeling of the Caracas people on the day of the funeral of the saint.
