The young faces of the Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991–2006) and Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901–1925), will be immortalized in a special philatelic emission on the occasion of their canonization. The canonization ceremony will be chaired by Pope Leo XIV on the morning of Sunday, September 7 in the Plaza de San Pedro.

To pay tribute to these two young witnesses of the Gospel, the Correos and Philately service of the Governor of the State of the Vatican City, in collaboration with the postal authorities of Italy, the Republic of San Marino and the military sovereign order of Malta, has prepared a special issue of commemorative stamps, as indicated in its website.

One of the stamps reproduces a portrait of Pier Giorgio Frassati painted by the artist Alberto Falchetti (1878–1951), belonging to the Frassati family. The other shows a photograph of Carlo Acutis with a red t -shirt and backpack, taken during a school excursion to Mount Subasio, near Assisi, shortly before his premature death by a fulminating leukemia.

Both stamps have been issued jointly by the Post Office and Filatelia of the Vatican, the Ministry of Business and the Made in ItalyPostte San Marino and Magistrali post of the military sovereign order of Malta, with a nominal value of 1.35 euros each.

In addition, for the Blessed Carlo Acutis, a F has been publishedolder Special commemorative – that is, a collectible folder or brochure – which includes the seal, official first -day envelopes and the “broadcast day” matsells. Its price is 10.00 euros.

The new stamps and the folder They will be available for sale immediately after the canonization in the postal office of the Plaza de San Pedro and, from the next day, in all Vatican Post Offices.

The broadcast seeks to underline, also through postal art, the strength of the Christian testimony of two young people who, from different contexts and times, lived an intense and coherent faith in Christ, leaving a deep mark on the contemporary church.
