The Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue in the Vatican published a message addressed to Muslims for Ramadan, a time of fasting and purification, in which it remembers that all war is fratricidal and none is holy.
In the text published this March 15, which also considers the Eid al-fitr (the feast of the end of the fast), the Vatican explains that it would have preferred to discuss another topic, but there are so many war conflicts that the world situation “has become truly alarming.”
“Pope Francis recently observed that this increase in hostilities is transforming ‘a third world war fought in pieces’ into ‘an authentic global conflict,’” continues the message signed by the prefect of the dicastery, Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso.
