During the Consistory, which took place at 9:00 a.m. (Rome time), Pope Francis decreed that Blessed Manuel Ruiz López and 7 companions and Blesseds Francesco, Mooti and Raffaele Massabki, Giuseppe Allamano, Marie-Léonie Paradis and Elena Guerra They will be canonized on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The Spanish Blessed Manuel Ruiz López and 7 companions were murdered out of hatred for the Faith in Damascus in 1869. For his part, Giuseppe Allamano was a founding priest of the Institutes of the Missionaries of the Consolata and of the Missionary Sisters of the Consolata.
