On December 15, Pope Francis will go to Ajaccio, the city where Napoleon Bonaparte was born, on the occasion of the conclusion of the congress entitled Popular religiosity in the Mediterranean.
This will be Pope Francis’ 47th apostolic trip abroad and his third visit to French territory, after trips to Strasbourg in 2014 and Marseille in 2023.
On December 24, the Holy Father will open the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica at 7:00 p.m. (local time), marking the beginning of Jubilee 2025.
