Pope Francis said that “the Christian mission is not based on visible results but on the fidelity to God”, in his message addressed to the participants of the national jubilee pilgrimage of the Czech Republic, which began on March 28 and concludes this Sunday.
“His path of faith is part of the rich Christian tradition of your land, illuminated by the testimony of the Saints Adalberto, Cirilo and Methodium and so many others. They brought the light of the Gospel with courage and patience, even to places where it seemed impossible. His example teaches us that the Christian mission is not based on visible results, but on the fidelity to God,” said the Holy Father.

“We are also called to announce the gospel with confidence, without fear of difficulties and obstacles,” said Pope Francis in the text released by the press office of the Vatican.
“God asks us to offer how little we are and have. Let’s think of those five loaves and two fish: in the hands of Jesus they became abundant food for a crowd.”
The same happens, Francisco said, “with our commitment to faith: if we trust the Lord with a generous heart, He will multiply it and do so fructify in a way that we cannot even imagine.”
Therefore, “we must never lose faith. God acts even when we do not immediately see the effects. The history of their saints teaches us: they think of the perseverance of John Nepomuceno and of so many other witnesses of faith in your earth. His lives show us that whoever trusts in God is never abandoned, even in times of trial, like those of persecution.”
At the end, the Pope encouraged the faithful Czechs to be “witnesses of peace and hope in a world that needs it so much, also in Europe. Our faith is not only for us, but a gift to share with joy.”
