Pope Francis then highlighted that “for God, glory is loving to the point of giving one’s life. To glorify oneself, for Him, means to give oneself, to make oneself accessible, to offer one’s love. And this happened climactically on the cross, where Jesus displayed God’s love to the fullest, fully revealing his face of mercy, giving us his life and forgiving those who crucified him.”
“From the Cross, ‘chair of God, the Lord teaches us that true glory, the one that never fades and makes us happy, It is made of surrender and forgiveness. Surrender and forgiveness are the essence of the glory of God”, highlighted the Holy Father.
In that sense, Pope Francis continued, they become “for us the path of life. Surrender and forgiveness: very different criteria from what we see around us, and also in ourselves, when we think of glory as something that must be received rather than given; as something to be possessed rather than offered. No”.
