The director of the Vatican Press Office, Matteo Bruni, reported that Pope Francis suffers from a “bilateral pneumonia” in addition to an “asthmatic bronchitis.”
The pneumonia suffered by the pontiff implies an infection in the lungs that causes inflammation in the alveoli, which can be filled with liquid or pus.

“During the afternoon, a thoracic control tac carried out at the Polyclinic Foundation ‘A. Gemelli ‘revealed the appearance of bilateral pneumonia, which has led doctors to adjust their pharmacological therapy, ”Bruni revealed.

Despite the seriousness of the diagnostic condition, Bruni has stated that Pope Francis is in “good humor.”
