Vatican: Pope Francis appoints the youngest Bishop of France at 48 years old in Nevers

This Saturday, March 16, Pope Francis appointed Fr. Grégoire Drouot, of the clergy of the Diocese of Autun, as the new Bishop of Nevers, making him the youngest bishop in France at 48 years old.

Regarding his appointment, the Bishop-elect noted: “I am happy to enter the holy history of this beautiful diocese of which you are today the important actors, together with all those who have preceded us, in particular Bernadette Soubirous, whose discreet but burning encourages me a lot”.

Saint Bernadette (Bernardita) Soubirous is the young visionary of the apparitions of the Virgin of Lourdes in France. Her mortal remains rest in Nevers.
