Mons. Sergio Pagano is now an advisor to the aforementioned pontifical committee. He was born on November 6, 1948. He is 75 years old.
He made his solemn profession at the Clergy Regular of Saint Paul on October 19, 1975. He was ordained a priest on May 28, 1978.
Pope Saint John Paul II appointed him Prefect of the Vatican Apostolic Archives on January 7, 1997, where he has served a total of more than 27 years.
He was consecrated bishop on August 4, 2007, during the pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI.
Who is Rocco Ronzani?
Father Rocco Ronzani is the new Prefect of the Vatican Apostolic Archives. He was until now professor of Fundamental Patrology at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Agustinianum in Rome.
He was born in Rome on February 21, 1978. He is 46 years old.
He entered the Order of Saint Augustine in 1997, where he made his solemn profession on November 1, 2002. He was ordained a priest on June 27, 2004.
In 2010 he obtained a Doctorate in Theology and Patristic Sciences at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Augustinianum in Rome.
He is also a consultant to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints and director of the Historical Archive of the Augustinian Province of Italy, as well as a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.
