Pope Francis appointed Father Fernando Daniel Rodríguez as the new Auxiliary Bishop of Lomas de Zamora, located in the southwest area of Greater Buenos Aires, in his native Argentina.
Lomas de Zamora is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. Its current bishop is Mons. Jorge Rubén Lugones.

The Press Office of Vatican reported this Thursday that the bishop-elect currently serves as parish priest of the Nuestra Señora de Luján church, in the Diocese of San Carlos Bariloche.

Who is the new Auxiliary Bishop of Lomas de Zamora in Argentina?
As pointed out AICAFather Fernando Daniel Rodríguez was born on November 10, 1970 in Río Cuarto, Córdoba. You are 53 years old.
In 1990, he entered the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Seminary of Buenos Aires; and in 1996 he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theology from the Argentine Catholic University.
He was ordained a priest on October 25, 1997. Between that year and 2003 he was parochial vicar of the Sanctuary of San Cayetano in Liniers.
In March 2003 he was sent as a priest the gift of faith (who does not exercise his ministry in the jurisdiction to which he belongs, with the permission of his bishop), to the Diocese of San Carlos de Bariloche, where he was parish priest in several parishes: Sagrado Corazón in Los Menucos (2003-2010), María Auxiliadora in Pilcaniyeu (2011) and San José in Dina Huapi (2011-2023).
From 2014 to 2023 he served as vicar general of the Diocese of San Carlos de Bariloche.
In addition, he was a member of the College of Consultants and the Presbyteral Council; vice president of diocesan Cáritas, member of the Commission for complaints of abuse against minors and head of the School for the permanent diaconate, among other positions.
Since 2023 he worked as parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Luján in El Bolsón.
