Bishop Sander was born on October 17, 1967 in Jérémie, in the diocese of the same name. He entered the Notre-Dame d’Haïti Major Seminary to pursue ecclesiastical studies in Philosophy and Theology, and was ordained a priest on November 17, 1996, incardinating himself in the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince.

He became a professor of Spiritual Theology at the same seminary, between 2012 and 2020.

From that year on, he began to serve as parish priest and as president of the Diocesan Commission for Catechesis and Liturgy, among other important responsibilities during his pastoral ministry.

Bishop Wismick was born on November 29, 1963 in Petites-Desdunes, in the Diocese of Les Gonaïves. After high school, he entered the Salesian postulancy of Thorland, continuing his studies in Philosophy at the Notre-Dame d’Haïti Major Seminary.

He was ordained a priest on January 15, 1995. He has held numerous administrative and training positions and completed several advanced studies.

The appointments come amid serious turmoil that dates back (at least) to 2021, when a series of political, social and natural events shook Haitian daily life.
