“A special moment in a special day for our Brazilian team,” the player wrote today on Instagram. “We are the only nation that has been in all World Cups and now we have the blessing of following our path to Hexa.”
Cafu is in Rome to attend the jubilee of athletes, which will be held next weekend. Bicampeón in 1994 and 2022, Cafú is the only player in history who has played three World Cup finals:
1994, when they beat Italy by penalties and dedicated the victory to the late Formula 1 pilot, Ayrton Senna; 1998, when Brazil lost 3 to 0 against France; and 2002, when with 2 goals from Ronaldo, “the phenomenon,” defeated Oliver Kahn’s Germany.
