On the agenda of Pope Francis’ celebrations in November and December in the Vatican, the creation of the 21 new cardinals, the tribute to the Immaculate Conception, the World Day of the Poor and the Mass for the Virgin of Guadalupe stand out.

Below is the calendar of celebrations published this Saturday by the Press Office of the Vatican.

On Monday, November 4, the Holy Father will preside over the suffrage Mass for the cardinals and bishops who have died during 2024. The Eucharist will be celebrated at 11:00 (local time) in St. Peter’s Basilica.

On Sunday, November 17, Pope Francis will preside over the Mass for the 8th World Day of the Poor, which has as its theme “The prayer of the poor ascends to God.” The Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:00 (local time) in St. Peter’s Basilica.

On Sunday, November 24, the Pontiff will preside over the Mass for the Solemnity of Jesus Christ King of the Universe, at 9:30 (local time), in St. Peter’s Basilica. That day is also celebrated the 39th World Youth Day, with the motto “Those who wait in the Lord walk without tiring.”

On Saturday, December 7, Pope Francis will preside over the public Ordinary Consistory for the creation of 21 new cardinals, at 4:00 p.m. (local time), in St. Peter’s Basilica.

On Sunday, December 8, the Holy Father will preside at the Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at 9:30 (local time), in St. Peter’s Basilica, together with the new cardinals and the College of Cardinals.

That same day, Pope Francis will pay his usual tribute to the Immaculate Conception in the Spanish Steps in Rome, at 4:00 p.m. (local time).

On Thursday, December 12, the Pontiff will preside over the Mass for the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe, at 6:00 p.m. (local time) in St. Peter’s Basilica.
