Valentine’s Day in Mexico: The Christ of Love proposes something more spiritual

In the center of Mexico City a special devotion has recently developed for those looking for love, goodness and peace: the image of the “Christ of Love.” This sacred figure is distinguished from the celebration of Valentine, offering a deeper and more spiritual meaning in times where love is seen, to a large extent, from a purely commercial perspective.

The image, known as the Lord of Love, Christ the Young or Christ of Love, is found in the Parish of Jesus Maria, an old convent whose construction began in 1597 and whose temple was consecrated in 1621.
