Florida Catholic Senator Marco Rubio is Donald Trump’s pick for the key post of Secretary of State.

For his part, Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, said that “leading the US State Department is an enormous responsibility.”
“I am honored by the trust that President Trump has placed in me, and I will work daily to carry out his foreign policy agenda,” Rubio said in a statement published on his count of this Wednesday.
“Under President Trump’s leadership we will achieve peace through strength and will always put the interests of the American people and the United States above all else,” he added.
In a recent interview, the Republican senator told Raymond Arroyo on EWTN who wants to turn the Catholic vote and the movement that supports Trump “into action, so that it is a governing coalition in this country that allows us to really do good things for the United States.”
In the interview, in which he highlighted the role of Catholics in Trump’s election, Rubio stated that “whether in the Senate or helping in his administration, that is a conversation we can have and we will determine what the right option is.”
Marco Rubio made his First Communion in 1984. He was confirmed and married in the Catholic Church with the Colombian Jeanette Dousdebes, with whom he has four children.
Speaking at length about his faith a few years ago,Rubio told Politico which is “fully, theologically and doctrinally aligned with the Roman Catholic Church.”
