Today we celebrate Saint Nicholas, patron of children and example of generosity

Every December 6, the Church celebrates Saint Nicholas, a 4th century bishop, considered the patron saint of children, sailors and travelers. Tradition has assigned a very special meaning to his name: Nicholas means ‘protector and defender of the people’.
