Every May 10, the Catholic Church celebrates Saint Damien of Molokai, Belgian missionary of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, recognized worldwide as a hero of charity because he made the suffering of leprosy patients who lived on the island of Molokai his own. (Hawaii archipelago, USA) at the end of the 19th century.
