According to Jesús León Ángeles, coordinator of the Milagro Eucharistic Peru 1649 group, in a note sent to ACI Press, on Saturday, September 6, the “traditional promise Saturday took place, which is held every first Saturday of the month and that summoned a large number of people”.
After the promises of the faithful, the youth pastoral of the Santa María Magdalena parish in Eten, made a serenade in honor of Acutis, the “cyber and the Eucharist.”
On Sunday 7, the day of the Canonization of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati, a special mass was held at 7:00 pm, for which an Acutis picture was placed with an image of the divine child of the Eucharistic miracle, an image that Pope Leo XIV venerated.
In his homily, Fr. Elmer Uchoofen Llontop, a new parish priest of Santa María Magdalena, stressed that “the reality of God is for all men to save themselves and reach the knowledge of the truth. We must be happy.”
The priest also stressed that to fulfill God’s will, it is necessary to hear it and move away from sin, with the Lord to the center of everything; Something that San Carlo Acutis understood and fulfilled.
The Santa María Magdalena parish retains a first -degree relic of the new Italian saint, who died in 2006 in Italy.
This place is now part of “The Route of León”, a tourist circuit that Peru launched to know the places where Pope Leo XIV was a missionary and bishop.
