Three generations, three styles, three hat boxes. One is milliner, proper name for someone who designs haute couture hats and headdresses. Another has an artisanal, explosively creative style. And the other, a costume designer, has an overflowing aesthetic to create the unimaginable.
Dasha Zakharova
It is an artisan hatmaker with a talent where originality prevails. He has established himself in Argentina, where he has lived since he was 15, also dedicating himself to extreme sports.
His career in hat design began approximately 5 years ago, after his second visit to the Festival. Burning Man, which takes place every year in the Nevada desert. It is built there a temporary city call Black Rock Citywhere creators from various disciplines meet.
Inspired by that environment and its aesthetics, Dasha began to design and make unique hats and fascinatorsfirst for herself and then for different clients, which led to the birth of her brand, DACHICS.
In her training she learned from experts such as Florencia Tellado, Laura Noetinger, Sol Pardo and Maor Zabard, all prominent personalities in the design and manufacture of headdresses and hats.
“I approach my work as an art, creating each hat by hand, without employing assistance or outsourcing. my creations are unique pieces” dice.
Her artisanal style leads her to use materials and own techniques. Galleries, visors, caps and cowboy hats are part of their productive menu.
Among their designs, the hats made of high-quality felt stand out, with leather details that give them a rustic touchto which he adds feathers, which suggest an air of freedom and connection with nature.
The inspiration comes from the Boho Chic aesthetic and the color palette that inspires the Nevada desert. “To wear with jeans,” he recommends.
It also makes headbands with a wild and tribal spirit, handmade with natural fibers and leather and wood details.
These designs They evoke nature and bohemian style. Ideal for protecting yourself from the sun or lying down to read. “It’s great for lunches or events at noon or evening,” she says.
Their cowboy style hats are hand-made with natural fibers. They combine leather, metal and feathers.
The raised wings format has a Boho twist. The details in recycled silk Ties and touches of wood add a unique character. “To wear until the sun goes down,” she says.
Laura Noetinger
Es milliner; His designs are haute couture and his specialty is custom design. Each creation is a prototype and for each client he makes Taylor made the hat according to the wedding dress, the party or the horse races -like the equestrian festival at the emblematic Ascot racecourse-.
She lived in New York where she worked as a volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1996 to 1998). He moved to London and made different fashion coursesembroidery, tailoring, art, photography and drawing in the London College of Fashion and in the Liberty of London.
He worked with Catherine Walker, who dressed Lady Di, and with the British designer Bruce Oldfield, connected to royaltywhich is the favorite of Camilla, the queen consort.
For 6 years she learned the art of hat making at Kensington and Chelsea College.
When he returned to Argentina he proposed revive the trade which was in decline, something he achieved by teaching in his workshop in Palermo. Noetinger’s style has a common denominator: subtle, chic and unmistakable.
Of her many headdresses, one stands out, made of horsehair, with a circular base from which the “sculpted” material rises with organic shapes. Ideal for a summer event or for a bride.
It also has an asymmetric “dish hat” model, made of sinamay, a very fine fabric that is manufactured in the Philippines, with the more delicate fibers of abacá and pita. Ideal for going to a wedding or attending an equestrian party.
His hat boater -the one she is wearing- is made of off-white raffia and has a flat antique ribbon bow. He chic hat gives it a discreet veil.

She is a costume designer and designs high-impact hats. “I am tireless in the pursuit of doing something that has not been done before. I am anxious and perfectionist; my sensitivity is my best tool and my fears do not paralyze me. Instead of worrying, I get busy.”
He says that in his job he always finds a great refuge. “My hands have the ability to do anything I propose to obtain the best result. I had a happy childhood but a complicated adolescence. That’s why I learned to be independent and earn my own money; to be aware of the effort it takes to achieve a goal,” he maintains.
She trained with Laura Noetinger and Hilda Juárez, milliner at the Teatro Colón. She studied with Noel Stewart, in London, doing an internship.
His hats were worn by people like Marilyn Manson and Rossy de Palma. She also wore one to Cristina Kirchner when she took over Pope Francis. As a costume designer she has an important career and her reel includes campaigns for Apple, Coca Cola, Nintendo and Adidas.
She makes hats in taftan, with removable natural silk organza bows, which are tied with a bow. These bows give identity to your designs, ideal for a cocktail. She also works on embroidered tulle and finishes with piping.
The designer is wearing a creative winged headdress, made up of two pieces: a padded headband and a hoop-shaped mane wing. The brim is attached to the headband with clips. She is the “perfect complement for a godmother,” he says.
