Thousands of Colombians took to the streets of some 30 cities on October 19 to demand the annulment of external circular 115 of the Superintendency of Health (Supersalud) that favors sex change in children.
The march was called by several organizations defending life and family, including Unidos por la Vida and Unión Familia, which was joined by families, religious and health professionals.

In addition to Bogotá, there were demonstrations in Cali, Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, among other cities.
On its Instagram account, Unión Familia stated that “more than 30 cities have raised their voices to say ‘no with children,’” in reference to the circular that Supersalud published on September 21 and that provides “general instructions for inspection, surveillance and control to guarantee the right to health of trans people in Colombia.”
Section H is dedicated to “trans childhoods and adolescence that are in the process of development,” and states that the objective is for minors to have “healthy development and support in affirming identity and/or gender expression in these stages.” of the life cycle”.
To this end, the Supersalud document cites in the footer 26 rulings of the Constitutional Court favorable to sex change for minors.
In the case of Bogotá, the demonstration left the National Park towards the Plaza de Bolívar.
Although at the beginning a small group of trans activists tried to stop the demonstration, it continued on its way towards the historic center with posters demanding respect for the integrity of minors, as well as with the march’s motto “You don’t get involved with children.” goals”.
The motto was directed especially to the Superintendent of Health, Luis Carlos Leal, appointed to that position by President Gustavo Petro.
A few days ago, the president of Unidos por la Vida, Jesús Magaña, indicated that Luis Carlos Leal “has issued this circular to promote hormonalization and sex change, according to his ideology, to his own way of living. “He is a homosexual activist, promoter of this entire LGBTIQ ideology.”
Likewise, he said that it is “a very clear project by President Petro, through his health superintendent.” “They don’t care about destroying the family, destroying the children, they don’t care about respecting the rights of parents because they want to do it to minors,” he told ACI Prensa.
