Brand Studio for Chevrolet
The mega stand of Chevrolet in Carilo –in Avellano between Benteveo and Boyero– is an excellent opportunity to see up close the best of the brand’s offering in Argentina, but also to learn exclusively about one of the great launches they have planned for this year: The Silverado is on display there, its historic full-size pick-up that returns to the market completely renewed.
Imposing no matter how you look at it – it is almost 6 meters long, after all –, the new Chevrolet Silverado It will arrive in the country imported from Mexico, and General Motors anticipated that its launch was scheduled for the second half of the year.
The new Silverado that will arrive in Argentina
The version that is exhibited on the Atlantic Coast is the High Countrya 4×4 double cab variant with chrome details, side steps, 20-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights that mount un 5.3 liter V8 gasoline enginewhich, with a reduction gearbox and associated with a 10-speed automatic transmission, allows it to deliver 360 HP of power and 530 Nm of torque.
To improve its efficiency and make the most of the 91 liters of fuel tank, the Silverado also has Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) technologywhich optimizes the use of cylinders and guarantees better performance on asphalt and in off-road scenarios.
As for its loading capacity, its box reports a volume of 1,781 liters in a space 1,776 millimeters long by 569 millimeters high, whose access door – with electric opening and closing – is 1,286 mm wide. And if you don’t know enough, there are also more intelligent storage compartments in the rear seats, which are foldable.
This beastly pick-up not only stands out for its features, but also for the equipment in terms of comfort and driving assistance. To begin with, it offers benefits such as dual-zone climate control, position memory for the driver’s seat, 12-inch LCD screen, premium Bose speakers and a MyLink multimedia center that, at 13.4”, is the largest in the segment.
It also comes standard with Native Wi-Fiwireless projection and Google Built-In system that further improves the interaction experience with the Internet giant’s most useful apps, such as Google Maps or the Google Assistant that solves everything through voice commands.
Like many of the brand’s products, it also incorporates the OnStar systemthe Chevrolet service that is a true intelligent assistant, available 24 hours a day, every day, that increases vehicle protection through remote tracking and tracking systems but is also prepared to respond and offer help in case of emergencies or accidents.
In that sense, The technology available to the driver in the new Chevrolet Silverado is cutting-edge, with front and rear parking assistants, 360º external view camera and exclusive technology for hitch integration and management. And it’s not the only thing: it incorporates cross traffic alerts, blind spot alerts, lane change alerts with automatic correction and rear collision alerts with emergency braking.
A notable item in this area is the pedestrian detection system: in addition to emitting an audible signal, in the event of an imminent collision the Silverado can automatically apply the brakes to mitigate the consequences.

Other Chevrolet launches
But it is not the only novelty from Chevrolet for 2024: for now, the stand Carilo also confirmed that for the first semester we can expect the new Tracker RSa variant with a sporty air that, imported from Brazil, will arrive with the same three-cylinder 1.2 turbo gasoline engine with 132 HP as its original variant – the one produced in Argentina – and only with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Added to this is also theS10 Midnight, a limited edition of 100 units of the Chevrolet pick-up which will also be seen in dealerships before July and is based on the LT 4×4 Automatic version – with a 200 HP and 500 Nm engine – but with aesthetic details, such as a darkened grille, optics, wheels and emblem.
