The Blessed Virgin appeared for the first time, on May 13, 1917, to three humble shepherds in Cova de Iría, Fátima (Portugal). This Mariophany, which would be repeated every 13th day for six months, quickly became one of the most widespread and beloved Marian devotions in the Catholic world.
The Mother of God asked Sister Lucia, visionary of Fatima, to spread the devotion of the first five Saturdays of the month in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This request would also later be confirmed by Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Precisely, counting from this week, there are five first Saturdays until one more anniversary of the last of the apparitions of Fatima, on October 13, 2024.
