He also maintained that from the baptism of Jesus and his death on the cross, “thanks to the gift of the Spirit” it is possible to reflect on the introduction of each one into the Christian life and vocation, “which consists of having become children of God thanks to faith, and having accepted the commandment of love.”
Addressing those present, he highlighted that “from the day of our Baptism the words that the Father addressed to Jesus here in the Jordan ring true: ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’ (Mc 1,11)”.
“And we can truly live as children of God because the Spirit of the Son dwells in us. And just as Jesus lived his entire life giving himself out of love, so we too can live the commandment of love until we give ourselves away,” he added.
