Within the sixth Virtual Pilgrimage which on the occasion of Lent is organized from the Holy Land by the Magdala Center, and which is titled “Lord, teach us to pray”, is carried out a free workshop on iconography taught by the director of the Bet Tefillah Apostolate y consecrada del Regnum Christi, Tais Gea
Throughout the workshop, participants will discover how all photographic, videographic or pictorial material that represents God, Christ, the Virgin Mary, saints or biblical passages are a good means to deepen prayer.
“Icons,” the expert explains in a statement, “are used for public worship, that is, they are placed in churches because they visibly reveal the invisible mystery of God.” It is, she emphasizes, the “oldest sacred art preserved after the representations in the catacombs” since it was preserved from the time of Constantine (4th century) to the present day by the Orthodox Church.
