They invite you to pray a novena for Saint John Paul II, the Pope of Mercy

“Saint John Paul II, the Pope of Mercy” is the theme of the reflections of the novena to Karol Wojtyla, which takes place from October 13 to 21, in preparation for the pontiff’s feast day, which the Catholic Church celebrates on October 22.

The novena is organized by “Speak to the World”, a virtual dissemination project of Divine Mercy in Spanish, led by the priests of the Oratory of San Felipe Neri in Argentina.

“The novena will consist of reflections, prayers and catechesis that will present the figure of Saint John Paul II in his very close connection with the devotion to the Divine Mercy,” Father Mauro Carlorosi, one of the priests in charge of the project and an expert in the devotion of the Divine Mercy, told ACI Prensa.

Father Carlorosi recalls that “John Paul II promoted, already as archbishop of Krakow (Poland), the message entrusted by Jesus Christ to Sister Faustina. His second encyclical ‘Dives in Misericordia’ (Rich in Mercy) promotes the relationship with God from Mercy.”

“The Polish Pope was the one who beatified (April 18, 1993) and canonized (April 30, 2000) Saint Faustina Kowalska – the priest continues when speaking of the Apostle of Divine Mercy, who received the messages of Jesus – and who instituted for the whole world that same April 30, 2000, the second Sunday of Easter as the Sunday of Divine Mercy.”

The Argentine priest also highlighted that Saint John Paul II consecrated the world to Divine Mercy and died “at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2005, already beginning on the second Sunday of Easter, the Feast of Divine Mercy.”

Father Carlorosi also highlighted that this novena also seeks to give hope to the faithful “in these very difficult times at a global and ecclesial level” in the face of which “Divine Mercy finds a providential task already anticipated in some way by Saint John Paul II.”

The priest said that the prayers and catechism of the novena will be sent to those interested by WhatsApp and Telegram, “so that everyone can pray and listen to them whenever they want.”
