The Diocese of Chilpancingo-Chilapa in Guerrero (Mexico), denounced the disappearance of Fr. Bertold Pantaleón Estrada, 58, who was last seen on Saturday, October 4.
In a statement dated October 5, Mons. José de Jesús González Hernández asked the Catholic community to have “the charity of praying for the prompt location” of the priest, who exercises his ministry in the parish of San Cristóbal, in the town of Mezcala, municipality of Eduardo Neri.

He also urged the presbytery to raise sentences in all parish communities “to be respected for the integrity of his person and be located with good.”
Before the “so delicate moment we are living,” Mons. González Hernández called on the general population to “avoid speculation and maintain an optimistic spirit in the midst of adversity.”
According to the description provided by the authorities, Fr. Pantaleón Estrada, years, wore a King blue guayabera shirt with vertical white stripes, dark pants and huaraches, when he was last seen in the municipality of Azcala, which he had gone to celebrate Mass.
On the other hand, the Parish of San Cristóbal in Mezcala reported that the municipal and state authorities were already notified about the case, and that an investigation folder has already begun to find the whereabouts of the priest.
Both the Mexican Episcopate Conference (CEM), and the diocese throughout the country, have joined in prayer for their speedy location.
