Those who committed this sacrilege, the statement continues, “opened the tabernacle and stole the sacred forms. A special fact that is an offense for the Lord and for the Catholic Church. ”
The tabernacle or tabernacle is the place where the Eucharist is kept, the Eucharist.
Relief for desecration in Valladolid
The statement also specifies that “under repair for the damage caused to the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist, to the parish community and, as a whole, to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Valladolid, during the Mass of this second Sunday of Lent, March 16, an act of relief will be held in the Church of Our Lady of the Vega.”
In that sense, the Archdiocese asked its faithful of Valladolid to pray “in relief for this sacrilegious act, as well as to take care of the celebration of the Eucharist and the reserve of the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle.”
The text concludes remembering that the Eucharist “is the very presence of Jesus Christ after the consecration of bread and wine, turned into his body and his blood.”
