Luigia was born on September 8, 1916 in Itri (Italy) and was baptized on September 16. According to DICASTERY FOR THE CAUSES OF THE Saintshe received a solid Christian education from his mother and had a good school preparation.
At age 15, he felt the call to religious life and entered the Institute of Pía Sociedad de las Daughters of San Pablo in Rome. However, he was forced to abandon his training due to health problems.
The Dicastery reports that, in November 1931, after losing his parents, he was welcomed by an aunt in Rome. To face the expenses of the stay, she began working as a domestic employee and, later, found a job in a post office and later in the central statistics office.
Years later, Luigia became ill of cancer and was on the verge of death. At that time, Luigia was a Franciscan tertiary and, in 1954, he obtained the dispensation to also enter the third order of the children of Mary, to which his spiritual director belonged.
The Vatican site explains that, at that time, Luigia maintained a deep spiritual link with St. Piolcina and enjoyed the confidence of the venerable Pope Pius XII. In 1937, after a revelation of the Virgin in the Roman city of Tre Fontane, he predicted the choice of Pius XII to the pontificate.
“The last period of his life at home passed by offering hospitality, listening, advice and spiritual comfort to all who came to her. He died of a gastric tumor on April 17, 1978 surrounded by a constant reputation of holiness and signs, ”adds the publication.
