The Press Office of the Holy See has announced this September 2 the calendar of ceremonies that Pope Francis will preside over in the month of October, marked by the Synod of Synodality and several canonizations.
After his extensive trip through Asia and Oceania in September and his visits to Belgium and Luxembourg at the end of the month, Pope Francis will face an equally intense October.

Autumn will begin in the Vatican with the opening Mass of the second and final session of the Synod of Synodality, on October 2 at 9:30 (Rome time), in St. Peter’s Square.
The Synod, celebrated under the title “For a Synodal Church: communion, participation and mission”, will conclude on Sunday, October 27 with a Holy Mass in the Vatican Basilica at 10:00 am.
It is expected that, as in October last year, Pope Francis will participate in some of the sessions.
The month will also be marked by the canonization, on October 20 at 10:30 a.m., of Blessed Manuel Ruiz López and 7 companions of the Order of the Minor Brothers, as well as Blesseds Francisco, Mooti and Rafael Massabki, lay faithful, murdered by hatred of faith in Syria in July 1860.
That same day, Marie-Léonie Paradis, founder of the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Holy Family, and Elena Guerra, founder of the Congregation of the Oblates of the Holy Spirit, will be elevated to the altars.
